Jayapura– In order to support the Asta Cita program and the priority of Advanced Indonesia 2045, the Police through the Cartenz-2024 Peaceful Operation continue to contribute to strengthening food security in Papua. One concrete step can be seen through the yard garden owned by Brigpol Victor Merani in Malompo Village, Arso VI, Keerom Regency, which has provided real results for the surrounding community.
On Saturday, November 30, 2024, Brigpol Victor Merani harvested long beans with very satisfying results. The harvest results show the effectiveness of the family yard-based food security approach initiated by the Police.
Head of the Public Relations Task Force for the Cartenz-2024 Peaceful Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police Dr. Bayu Suseno, emphasized that this food security program is part of a national effort to encourage food independence.
“The food security program is a national program implemented through family yards. The hope is that Polri members can motivate families and the surrounding community to be independent in meeting food needs,” said Kombes Pol. Dr. Bayu Suseno.
Brigpol Victor Merani also expressed his hope that his harvest could inspire the community, especially indigenous Papuans, to utilize their yards to improve family food security and support government programs.
“What we are doing is expected to be an example and motivate the community, especially indigenous Papuans, to garden and farm using the existing yards. This can help the family economy and even support government programs through Asta Cita and the priority of Indonesia Maju 2045,” explained Brigpol Victor Merani.
The harvest from this garden not only provides economic benefits but also becomes a symbol of the success of the cooperation between the Polri and the community in realizing food independence in Papua.
