Oksibil, November 21, 2024- Ahead of the simultaneous regional head elections (Pilkada) on November 27, 2024, the democratic atmosphere in Pegunungan Bintang Regency is increasingly felt. Supporters of the candidate pairs for regent and deputy regent are enthusiastic about following the campaign stages which have so far been taking place in a peaceful spirit.
Pegunungan Bintang Regency is also enlivening this democratic party with four competing candidate pairs (paslon). The existence of these four paslons provides its own dynamics, influencing the choice of votes of the people in the districts.
Chairman of the Pegunungan Bintang Regency Traditional Institution Council, Engelbertus Uropmabin, appealed to the entire community to maintain security and order during the Pilkada process.
“I, the Chairman of the Traditional Institution Council, appeal to the entire community to maintain the security and order situation (Kamtibmas). We must choose candidate pairs with conscience, without bringing each other down. These four candidate pairs are our indigenous children. Let’s create a peaceful Pilkada for the development of the Pegunungan Bintang Regency that we love,” said Engelbertus.
Engelbertus also expressed his appreciation to the security forces, especially the TNI-Polri, who have played an active role in maintaining security during the Pilkada stages. The presence of security forces is considered very important to ensure that the democratic process runs smoothly without interference.
