Jayapura, November 22, 2024- The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in the Puncak Region has upended itself again by shooting 2 civilian motorcycle taxi drivers in Weni Village, Mageabume District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 13:00: Wit.
Head of Peace Operations Cartenz-2024, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., when confirmed said that, It is true that there has been a murder of 2 civilians in Puncak Regency which is suspected to have been carried out by the KKB.
“We can convey that there has been a murder of 2 civilians who are motorcycle taxi drivers, in Weni Village, Mageabume District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 13:00: Wit.”, said Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani.
Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations Task Force for Peaceful Operations Cartenz-2024, Senior Commissioner of Police. Dr. Bayu Suseno, S.H., S.I.K., M.M., M.H., revealed a brief chronology of the incident.
According to Senior Commissioner of Police. Dr. Bayu Suseno, the murder occurred on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at around 13.30 WIT. At that time, a witness with the initials TT, saw KALENAK MURIB, which is a KKB Puncak together with other KKBs, committing murder against 2 civilians (newcomers) by shooting and slashing the victims using a machete.
“Seeing this, witness TT immediately went to Sinak District. Upon arrival at Sinak District, Puncak Regency, witness TT immediately told the incident to witness P and then at around 16.30 WIT, witness P immediately reported the incident information to the Sinak Police.
Continued by Senior Commissioner Pol. Dr. Bayu Suseno, the identities of the victims are;
- IMRAN. place and date of birth in Gowa, on February 2, 2001, male, Muslim and address according to KTP, namely, Botokappong, RT.002.RW.002 Kampung Tinggimae, Barombong District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi Province.
- ASRUN EKO PUTRA. place and date of birth in Bawakung, December 20, 2000, male and Muslim, married status and address in Kolongkong, Bontosunggu Village, Gai Esong Utara District.
Senior Commissioner Pol. Dr. Bayu Suseno added that the victim’s body had not been evacuated due to the road access being impossible due to the bridge connecting Sinak District and Mageabume District being cut off, so the evacuation process is planned to be carried out today, Friday, November 22, 2024.
“Until now, our team from the Catenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force in the Puncak area has increased its readiness to anticipate further actions from the KKB and has made police efforts to pursue the KKB perpetrators,” concluded Kombes Pol. Dr. Bayu Suseno.
