Jayapura, November 21, 2024 – Ahead of the Christmas celebration which is an important moment for Christians, the Head of the Jayapura City Red and White Brigade, Niko Mauri, invited all Papuan people to maintain public security and order (kamtibmas).
This appeal is a special call to ensure that the month of December which is full of religious meaning can take place peacefully.
Niko Mauri, who also serves as the Head of the Papua Province Panca Marga Youth Deparda, emphasized the importance of maintaining peace from early December to the end of 2024.
“Let’s maintain kamtibmas together in December so that the Christmas celebration will run peacefully. Thus, we can welcome the new year 2025 well and full of hope together,” he said. On the other hand, Niko Mauri expressed his appreciation for the Cartenz-2024 Peaceful Operations Task Force which has collaborated with the Papua Police in maintaining security in the Papua region. According to him, the efforts of the Cartenz-2024 Peaceful Operations Task Force have helped the Papuan people live safely and peacefully, despite the potential for disturbances from the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).
“We greatly appreciate the Cartenz-2024 Peaceful Operations Task Force for their support to the Papua Police, especially in securing the Pilkada in areas prone to KKB. Thanks to their hard work, the democratic party is expected to run smoothly,” said Niko with gratitude.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Cartenz-2024 Peaceful Operations Task Force, Kombespol Dr. Bayu Suseno, explained that the assistance team had been deployed to areas prone to KKB disturbances to support the smooth running of the Pilkada. This step aims to ensure that the democratic party in Papua can run safely without disturbances.
“The assistance team from the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force has carried out its duties in areas prone to KKB disturbances. We hope that the implementation of the upcoming regional elections will run smoothly and safely,” said Kombespol Bayu.
In addition, Kombespol Bayu also appealed to the Papuan people to continue their activities as usual. He emphasized the importance of avoiding hoax information that could disrupt security stability.
