The Head of the Jayawijaya Regency Traditional Community Institution (LMA), Herman Doga, emphasized the importance of maintaining security stability ahead of the simultaneous regional elections to be held on November 27, 2024. In his statement, he appealed to the public to play an active role in creating a conducive atmosphere until the vote counting process is complete.
“We call on all people of the Papua Mountains Province, especially in Jayawijaya Regency, to jointly maintain security and peace during the regional election process,” said Herman Doga recently.
Herman emphasized that the LMA and the people of Jayawijaya Regency fully support the implementation of the regional elections so that they run smoothly, safely, and peacefully. He hopes that all stages will take place in an orderly manner, so as to produce the best leaders for the community.
“The community’s contribution is very large in creating a conducive atmosphere. This proves that the community supports the creation of security and comfort in their area,” he added.
On that occasion, Herman also reminded the public to be careful of information that is not clear. He emphasized the importance of avoiding news or issues that can trigger division or conflict.
“Don’t be easily provoked by news or information that cannot be verified, let alone causing conflict,” he said. Collaboration between the community and security forces is key to maintaining a peaceful situation during the Pilkada. This commitment is expected to ensure that all stages of the Pilkada run successfully and create leaders who bring progress to Jayawijaya Regency.
