Jayapura- Just counting the days, the democratic party for regional head elections (Pilkada) will be held in Indonesia, including Papua Province.
All parties want the simultaneous regional elections to run safely, smoothly and peacefully.
Support for safe and peaceful regional elections was also voiced by the General Chair of the National Papuan Indigenous Youth Leadership Council, Jan Christian Arebo.
He appealed to all elements of society throughout Papua to participate in making the 2024 regional elections a success.
Not only in Papua, but he also wants the people in the three new autonomous regions (DOB) including Central Papua, Peggunungan Papua and South Papua to work together to realize peaceful regional elections.
“Let’s work together to create a safe, peaceful and calm security and social security situation before and after the regional elections.”
“So that the election of a leader is in line with all of our hopes,” said Arebo.
According to him, the people of Papua, which is the eastern tip of Indonesia, must set a good example regarding security and conversation in the election of governor-deputy governor, regent-deputy regent and mayor-deputy mayor.
He also invited the public to vote according to their respective voting rights, because this could determine the direction of each region in the future.
“Every vote we cast can determine the development of our region in the next five years, don’t abstain,” he stressed.
Arebo appealed to all people in the land of Papua to be able to realize the holding of regional elections that are successful, safe, peaceful and prostrate.
