Rev. Telius Wonda, Chair of the Gidi Mulia Classis, emphasized the importance of maintaining security stability ahead of the simultaneous regional elections to be held on November 27, 2024. In his statement, Rev. Telius invited the people of Puncak Jaya Regency to play an active role in creating a conducive atmosphere, maintaining peace, and ensuring that the regional election process runs safely until the vote counting stage is complete.
“We appeal to the entire community, especially the Gidi Mulia congregation and residents of Puncak Jaya Regency, to jointly maintain security and peace during the regional election process. Let us show that we are ready to maintain this democratic process in an orderly and peaceful manner,” said Rev. Telius Wonda recently.
Rev. Telius emphasized that the community has a very large role in creating a conducive atmosphere during the stages of the regional elections. He hopes that each stage of the regional elections can run smoothly and safely, by producing quality leaders for Puncak Jaya Regency.
“Our community must contribute greatly to creating a safe and peaceful atmosphere. This is proof of our support for the creation of security and comfort in this region,” he added.
Rev. Telius also reminded the public to be careful of information that is not yet clear, which can trigger division or tension. He emphasized the importance of avoiding fake news and not spreading information that can damage social harmony.
“We must be wise in choosing information. Don’t be easily provoked by issues that cannot be accounted for, because this will only damage our peace,” he said.
Collaboration between the community, religious leaders, and security forces is very important in maintaining a peaceful situation during the Pilkada. Rev. Telius hopes that this collaboration will ensure that the 2024 Pilkada in Puncak Jaya Regency can run successfully and produce leaders who can bring positive change to the region.
“We are committed to supporting the implementation of a safe and peaceful Pilkada. Hopefully this Pilkada will produce wise leaders who will bring progress to the people of Puncak Jaya Regency,” concluded Rev. Telius Wonda.
