Jayapura, November 16, 2024 – In an effort to support the government’s program to eradicate online gambling practices, the Public Relations Task Force of Peaceful Operation Cartenz-2024 held a socialization activity for the Anti-Online Gambling Movement at the Nongkrong Kursi Panjang (Kupang) location, Dok 2, Jayapura City, on Saturday night.
This activity became the center of attention for visitors when the Public Relations Task Force of Peaceful Operation Cartenz-2024 appointed Bripda Andi Saputro as the Anti-Online Gambling Ambassador.
During that moment, Bripda Andi gave inspirational messages to the young people who were present.
“Stay away from online gambling and remember its dangers. Let’s stop playing online gambling,” said Bripda Andi in front of the visitors.
He also explained the negative impacts that can arise from the habit of playing online gambling, such as financial losses, mental and physical health problems, conflicts in personal relationships, and legal problems that lead to crime.
Data Security Risks are also a concern, given the rampant leaks of personal information due to illegal online gambling platforms.
This activity received full support from the Head of the Public Relations Task Force for the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police Dr. Bayu Suseno.
In his statement, Senior Commissioner Bayu stated that this activity aims to educate the public, especially the younger generation, to stay away from activities that can harm themselves and their families.
“This activity is an implementation of government policy to eradicate online gambling. We want to invite young people who are enjoying the Saturday night atmosphere in Jayapura not to be tempted to play online gambling,” said Senior Commissioner Bayu.
He added that this socialization is not just a campaign, but also part of an effort to create a healthier, more productive, and more responsible young generation of Papua.
“Our hope is that the public, especially young people in Jayapura City, understand how great the risks are of online gambling. Stay away from this activity for the good of yourself and your family,” he concluded.
This socialization received a positive response from the visitors who attended. They welcomed the messages conveyed and hoped that similar activities could continue to be carried out to create collective awareness among the Papuan people.
