Central Papua Youth Leader Urges People to Maintain Neutrality in Elections

Timika – Central Papuan youth leader, Musa Boma, appealed to all Central Papuan people, including youth, officials, businessmen, as well as TNI and Polri security forces, to maintain neutrality in the regional head election (Pilkada) process which will take place in the region.

Musa expressed his hope that all elements, starting from the General Election Commission (KPU), the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), to the election committees at the provincial and district levels, could carry out their duties honestly and neutrally.

In his statement received by Suara.com, Thursday (14/11/2024), Musa emphasized the importance of avoiding dirty political practices that could hurt democracy.

“Elections are a democratic celebration, not an event for bloodshed. “This is an opportunity for the people of Central Papua to elect the best leader who can develop this region, both in terms of infrastructure and human welfare,” said Musa.

He also reminded that whoever is later elected as governor or regent must work hard and prioritize the interests of the Papuan people.

He hopes that this message can be heard and immediately put into practice by regional leaders in Central Papua for the progress and welfare of all Papuan people.
