Jayapura, November 14, 2024 — Papuan traditional figure and Chief of the Wikaya-Arso Keerom Tribe, Herman Yoku, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation Task Force for its performance and achievements during 2024.
According to Herman, the task force’s success in enforcing the law in the Papua region has created a conducive and safe atmosphere among the Papuan people.
“As a Papuan Traditional Figure, I am proud of the achievements of the Police through the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation Task Force this year,” said Herman, adding that the humanistic approach taken by the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation Task Force, especially in the release of Susi Air pilot, Capt. Philips Mark Martens, from the hostage-taking of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) without any fatalities, is an extraordinary achievement.
Herman hopes that this positive performance can be further improved in 2025.
He also appealed for the continuation of the Cartenz-2025 Peace Operation to continue for the safety and comfort of the Papuan people.
“In 2025, I hope that the Cartenz Peace Task Force will further improve its achievements in law enforcement in order to create peaceful security for the State, Nation, and Country, especially in the Eastern Region of Indonesia, Papua,” he hoped.
Meanwhile, in a separate location, the Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation Public Relations Task Force, Senior Commissioner of Police. Dr. Bayu Suseno, S.H., S.I.K., M.M., M.H., stated that the Cartenz-2024 Peace Task Force will continue to be committed to maintaining conducive conditions in Papua in order to support daily community activities.
“The creation of a safe and peaceful public order will have a positive impact on every community activity in Papua,” said Bayu closing his statement.
