Jayapura- In order to realize safe and peaceful regional elections, Jayawijaya LMA Chairman Herman Doga asked the public to support the performance of the Papua Regional Police.
“In creating a social security situation ahead of the upcoming regional head elections (Pilkada) on 27 November 2024, let us support the police to maintain peace,” said Herman Doga.
Herman Doga expressed his gratitude to the authorities who have tried to maintain security ahead of the Papuan Pilkada so that it remains safe.
“The police have tried to maintain the security situation, therefore as a society, let us join hands to maintain it too,” he said.
He hopes that in this Pilkada, all elements of society can be wise in receiving all information so that they are not instigated by propaganda issues and hoaxes.
“Now is a political year, there are many ways to disrupt security stability, therefore be wise when receiving information on social media,” he said.
Herman Doga emphasized that the Pilkada is an event for democratic celebrations that must be successful with joy, not with bloodshed.
“Stop there are victims every election. “Let’s grow up, we look for leaders for progress, different choices in politics are normal, so don’t make politics for brotherhood and unity,” he explained.
Herman hopes that the Papua Regional Police can be firm with every individual who wants to resolve the division of unity that has been maintained so far in Papua.
“We hope that firm action will be taken against those individuals who want to create chaos. “Papua is a land of peace,” he added.
