Jayapura- The recommendations for the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections are highly anticipated by the Chair of the Papua Shepherd Forum, Otis Suwae. According to him, regional elections are a moment for society to move towards democratic maturity.
Otis believes that the 2024 regional elections will most likely be full of intrigue. Therefore, he appealed to the public to make valuable decisions according to their conscience.
“Now that we are entering the Pilkada period, there is one thing we must not forget, namely our Nuarni conscience,” he said.
It was further stated that people often watch to follow the flow or listen to slanted voices that present threats and propaganda issues, thus causing conflict.
“Let’s avoid it, for that reason I invite us to make the most valuable decision, namely when we follow the call of our own conscience. Let us make our voices instruments of positive change.” influenced by a smear campaign,” he said.
He invited the public to participate in maintaining the security and social security situation in the district and city so that it is peaceful.
“Let’s carry out the entire regional election process in an orderly manner and with mutual respect. “That way, we will strengthen the strong foundations of our democracy, protect the Land of Papua in the Democratic Party, so that the regional elections can run safely and peacefully,” concluded Otis Suwae.
