Mimika- The Kei Mimika Youth Alliance supports the Mimika Police and Papua Regional Police in overseeing the implementation of the 2024 simultaneous regional elections in Papua.
Chairman of the Kei Mimika Youth Alliance, Yoseph Temorubun, said he appreciated the performance of the police in ensuring the continuity of the Pilkada stages in the Central Papua Province region, especially Mimika Regency, starting from announcements, KPU registration to campaigning for deputy regent candidate pairs in the Regency in safe and conducive conditions.
“We lied Kei Mimika Youth saw this part that the police’s performance in securing the Mimika Regency Pilkada situation ran safely and peacefully without any disturbance,” said Yoseph Temorubun in his statement in Timika, Wednesday (30/10/2024).
Moreover, said Yoseph, Mimika district is one of the areas where the level of conflict escalation is very high but from the registration stage to the Timika campaign the situation is in a conducive condition.
“Once again we appreciate the performance of the Mimika Police, in this case the Papua Police brought the leadership of the Regional Police Chief, Inspector General of Police. “Patrige Renwarin is very good at maintaining the security and social security situation,” he said.
It was said that routine Mimika Police patrols visiting the secretariats of the winning team posts were one of the steps to create security conditions in accordance with the SOP in securing the Mimika Regency Pilkada so that it was safe and smooth.
“Yes, community participation in maintaining the security situation in Timika is very good because of the cooperative participation between all stakeholders and the Mimika Police in this case maintaining the national security and security situation,” said Yoseph.
He appealed to the entire community of Mimika Regency, especially the extended family of the Kei Youth Alliance, in maintaining the national security and security situation in the Mimika Regency Pilkada to continue to prioritize democratic processes and avoid miscommunication in society.
“This means that the public understands the good and correct democratic process, so we need to appreciate the Papua Regional Police for collaborating with all stakeholders in Timika,” he concluded.
