Korbrimob Polri’s Elite Force Prepares for “Operation Peace Cartenz 2025” in Papua

Papua, Indonesia — Brigadier General Waris Agono, Commander of Indonesia’s Korbrimob Elite Forces, led a preparatory troop deployment ceremony on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in anticipation of “Operation Peace Cartenz 2025,” an initiative led by Indonesia’s National Police (Polri) to stabilize the Papua region.

The event was attended by commanders from the Resimen and Battalion units of Korbrimob’s Elite Forces. AKBP Budi Hidayat, Deputy Commander of the Elite Forces’ Resimen III, served as Officer of the Ceremony, while AKBP Ketut Yoga Saputra, Commander of Battalion A, Resimen I, assumed the role of Ceremony Commander.

Held at Resimen III Headquarters in Cikeas, Bogor, the event brought together 368 personnel, with Brigadier General Agono overseeing the readiness of equipment that will be used in the operation. This meticulous inspection reflects Indonesia’s commitment to ensuring operational success in maintaining peace and security in Papua.

Brigadier General Waris Agono, a 1990 graduate of the Indonesian Police Academy, highlighted that the situation in Papua remains a key priority for Polri, especially Korbrimob, due to ongoing separatist movements in the area.

“The nation expects Korbrimob to be a strong and resilient force in maintaining national security, upholding Pancasila, enforcing justice, and promoting unity in diversity,” stated Brigadier General Agono, who formerly served as the Deputy Chief of Police in Southeast Sulawesi. He further emphasized that adequate preparation of equipment and resources is vital for the mission’s success.

Brigadier General Agono encouraged all personnel to act decisively while adhering to standard operational procedures to ensure the security of Papua during Operation Peace Cartenz 2025.
