Papua- Acting Regent of Puncak Nenu Tabuni regrets the burning of the Sinak High School building which was allegedly carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Jigiboak Village, Sinak District on October 9 2024.
Based on this incident, the study room burned down, so the students had to move schools to use the middle school and elementary school buildings in the Sinak District.
“The young generation is Puncak Regency’s asset. We will age and the younger generation will replace us. “But with incidents like this, students no longer go to school,” he explained.
Dikatan, to overcome this problem, will coordinate with the Police Chief, Dandim Puncak and the unit commander on duty in the Sinak District area. Including coordinating with religious, traditional and community leaders.
“We received information from local residents that the situation in Sinak District is safe and conducive. “Praise God, from the results of communication from all parties, it is reported that Sinak’s condition is safe,” he said.
His party has also ordered the Head of the Education Service to go to the location where the school building was burned and confirm what steps will be taken in the short term, so that students at Sinak High School can return to school.
Meanwhile, in the long term, the Puncak Regency Government ensures that the Sinak High School building will be rebuilt using the 2025 APBD funds.
“With this incident, don’t discourage children from going to school. They must remain enthusiastic about school, whether they want to be in middle school or elementary school. “Students should not stop going to school, because they are national assets,” he explained.
The Puncak Regency Government asked all parties to maintain security, especially ahead of the 2024 regional elections.
“The elected leaders will have to build Puncak Regency even better,” he said.
