Jayapura – Rev. Petrus Bonyadone as a Religious Leader expressed his thanks and high appreciation for all the hard work of all elements of the Institution, in particular to the Solidarity of the TNI and Police, as well as religious leaders, youth and the Nduga Community who succeeded in rescuing Pilot Susi Air Capt. Philip Mark Mertens.
“I would like to thank the TNI-Polri and all those involved in the release of Pilot Phlip Mark Mertnens who was held hostage for 19 months. “As church leaders, we appreciate and are grateful for the extraordinary cooperation,” said Rev. Peter Bonyadone.
He also conveyed to the community in particular in Nduga to maintain peace and tranquility, to ensure that the situation remains conducive, so that nothing happens that makes the community in Nduga not feel safe.
“Moreover, we are going to the regional elections specifically in November, there will be a process of selecting officials for both provinces and districts/cities,” he said.
“Let us maintain peace in the Land of Papua. I specifically appeal to all churches to continue to pray for Papua to be maintained so that Papua remains a land of peace,” he added.
The religious figure also asked to stop any additional movements from the Sebby Sambom Group because Papua has now become a land of peace and security.
