Jayapura City- The 2024 simultaneous elections will be held on November 27, 2024, and the whole of Indonesia is preparing to welcome this democracy party, including in Papua.
In this context, the public is expected to play an active role in maintaining public peace and order (kamtibmas) leading up to, during, and after the conduct of elections.
The call to maintain peace in the election this time came from Jayapura City Youth Leader, Dede Fachrudin.
In his message, he emphasized the importance of maintaining unity during the election process.
“Elections are a party of democracy, not an arena of division,” he said, calling on the entire Papuan community, especially Jayapura City, to respect the differences.
Dede also added the invitation to not be easily provoked by issues that could split the union.
“Let us realize peaceful elections. Let us not be easily provoked, and let us not let differences spoil our unity,” he appealed passionately.
Further, he cautioned the public to exercise their franchise wisely, as one vote means a lot to determine the direction of development for the next five years.
He closed his call with a hope-filled message, “Peaceful elections, successful elections.”
