Jayapura- Dozens of Papuan students who are members of the Puncak Regency Student and Student Association (IPMAP) invite regional head candidates who are contesting to campaign in the 2024 simultaneous regional elections safely and peacefully.
This was conveyed by IPMAP Field Coordinator Spri Mulani Jikwa after holding a Cultural Festival at the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) Papua Pavilion, East Jakarta.
“We are giving a message here to the brothers and sisters who are running for regional head to campaign for healthy politics and to be able to hold this Pilkada safely, fairly, honestly and peacefully,” said Spri Mulani Jikwa.
He explained that Papuan students do not want past problems to happen again in Papua and other areas.
“We believe that the regional head candidates have integrity, are educative and have a vision to develop Indonesia, especially in Papua,” he continued.
Jikwa also believes that these regional head candidates can maintain the unity and integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) in implementing the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections in Indonesia.
He said that through the Cultural Festival with Papuan drama and dance performances, the students wanted to educate the Indonesian people, especially Papua and Puncak Regency, to hold the Pilkada democracy party safely, honestly, fairly and peacefully.
“In particular, Papua and Puncak Regency should hold simultaneous regional elections on November 27 2024 safely and peacefully. “We don’t want tribal wars to return to Papua,” explained Jikwa.
