Jayapura – General Chair of the National Papuan Traditional Youth Leadership Council, Yan Cristian Arebo, SH, MH., invited all Papuan people to maintain security and asked the community (Kamtibmas) ahead of the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) which will be held on 27 November 2024 .
This appeal was conveyed by Yan Cristian Arebo on Monday, September 30 2024, in Jayapura.
In his statement, Yan Cristian Arebo emphasized that the success of the Papua Regional Elections is very dependent on the active participation of all levels of society in maintaining stability and security in the Papua region.
“I hereby appeal to all of us to maintain the security and peace situation in the community (Sitkamtibmas) ahead of the Pilkada so that it always runs safely and peacefully,” he said.
Furthermore, Arebo reminded the importance of using voting rights wisely, because every vote cast will determine the direction of Papua’s development over the next five years.
“We use our voting rights well, because our votes can determine development in the next five years,” he stressed.
At the end of his appeal, Yan Cristian Arebo also invited the Papuan people not to abstain and respect existing differences, and continue to maintain unity.
“Don’t abstain, let’s maintain unity and respect differences. Make Peaceful Regional Elections a Reality,” ended with the message, “Peaceful Greetings, Peaceful Regional Elections.”
