Jayapura- Member of Commission III DPR RI from the Golkar Party Fraction Supriansa appreciated the Cartenz Peace Task Force for successfully freeing the Susi Air pilot, Captain Philip Mark Mehrtens, from the armed criminal group (KKB). He asked that this task force be given an award.
“This success deserves appreciation from the TNI-Polri peace operations task force team because it was carried out in elegant ways by prioritizing negotiations and not in a repressive way. “In fact, the team deserves an award,” said Supriansa.
He believes that the release of Captain Philip Mehrtens from the KKB really requires patience. Supriansa was also grateful that the New Zealand pilot was finally freed by the Cartenz Peace Task Force.
“This team certainly needs a lot of patience to negotiate. “Once again I say thank God to the National Police and TNI teams and all parties involved in resolving the Susi Air pilot hostage problem,” he said.
Appreciation was also given by member of Commission I DPR RI from the Golkar Party Fraction, Bobby Adhityo Rizaldi. He praised the TNI-Polri for not inciting repressive action in their efforts to pardon.
“Highest appreciation to the TNI/Polri for consistently prioritizing soft approach diplomacy, not being provoked by incentives to carry out operations that have the potential to be repressive in the eyes of the international community,” said Bobby.
He also encouraged there to be an evaluation of security operations in the Papua region. Bobby does not want the incident of documenting foreign citizens in Papua to happen again in the future.
“The formulation of security restoration operations there should be evaluated in order to prevent kidnappings like this, and the situation will become conducive again. Kudos to the Cartenz Peace Task Force,” he added.
