Jayapura– The Chairman of Lapogo Traditional Council of Jayapura District, News Jikwa, expressed deep concern regarding security conditions in Papua. This statement was issued by Nius on Thursday, September 19, 2024, in Jayapura.
Nius affirmed the importance of the role of public figures in maintaining order and security in their respective regions.
As a tribal chief, he felt responsible to appeal to the community not to allow the bad situation that once occurred in Papua to be repeated.
“I call on the entire community to be vigilant and not allow violence and killings to continue. This situation has made many citizens feel unsafe, even in their own homes,” he said emphatically.
Nius also asked all public figures, including the RT-RW hometown team, to continue conveying messages of peace and security to citizens.
He stressed that the role of the kampung apparatus was vital in keeping the situation in Papua safe and peaceful.
She added that society shouldn’t be affected by negativity. Instead, the primary focus should be directed on efforts to build Papua peacefully, not violently.
