Jayapura- The Chairman of the Lapago Traditional Council of Papua Province, Agus Rawa Kogoya, issued an important appeal to the Papuan people, especially the citizens of Lapago, to maintain unity and peace amidst the concerning security situation.
Agus affirmed that security in Papua is a shared responsibility for the sake of creating a safe and peaceful life.
Agus called on all Lapago Traditional Council Chairmen to unite and coordinate in maintaining community peace and order.
He also affirmed there would be an important meeting in the next few days discussing the security situation of Papua, in the hope that all parties could prepare and work together.
Additionally, Agus warned the public not to be easily provoked by parties seeking to fracture the unity of the nation.
He stressed the importance of maintaining unity in the midst of a struggle that requires great sacrifice, especially given that so many casualties have already fallen.
In his stark message, Agus called on the leaders of the Armed Criminal Groups (ACC) to immediately cease any form of violence that continues to occur, in the hope that the conflict that often harms civil society can come to an end.
“The issue of independent Papua has become an international concern, therefore we must be prudent in our every action,” Agus stressed.
He closed with an appeal for an immediate cessation of all unjust actions for the sake of achieving peace and security in Papua.
