Mimika- Marianus Maknaipeku, Deputy Chairperson of the Kamoro Tribe Traditional Community Institution (Lemasko), issued an appeal to all Mimika residents, especially Kapiraya residents, not to carry out movements that could harm the community.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining order, especially ahead of the simultaneous Regional Elections on November 27, 2024.
Maknaipeku emphasized that land issues among the Kamoro Tribe must be resolved wisely.
“Let’s not seize each other’s land, but let’s guard the land together as a hereditary right,” he said.
In order to face the Regional Elections, Marianus also emphasized the importance of maintaining public security and order (Kamtibmas).
“The gubernatorial and regent elections will be held in November, so it is very important for us to maintain regional stability and help make this democratic party a success,” he added.
Regarding the land issue that often becomes an issue in Mimika Regency, Marianus asked the public not to worsen the situation.
He hopes that with the election of a definitive regent as a result of the Pilkada later, this problem can be resolved properly through the right channels.
In addition, he highlighted the illegal gold mining activities that occurred in Wakia Village, Kapiraya, West Central Mimika District, Central Papua, and appealed to the public to be more careful in responding to the situation.
According to him, the role of the community is very important to prevent things that are detrimental, both to the community and the surrounding environment.
