Mimika- Decky Tenouye, Chief of the seven tribes in Mimika Regency, responded to the boundary dispute between the Kamoro Tribe and the Mee Tribe.
According to him, this conflict should be resolved peacefully so as not to cause unrest among the Mimika community.
“Two weeks ago, I told the Mee Tribe to resolve this problem after the regional elections, so that currently we continue to maintain public security and order (kamtibmas),” said Decky Tenouye in his statement.
Furthermore, Tenouye said that after the regional elections, meetings would be held in the disputed areas, such as Mondodagi and the surrounding villages.
In the meeting, all tribal chiefs will be present, including the Amungme Tribal Deliberative Council (LEMASA), the Kamoro Community Deliberative Council (LEMASKO), as well as witnesses from the DPR or related officials.
He hopes that with an open deliberation involving various parties, this dispute can be resolved properly and fairly, thus creating harmony among the Mimika community.
