Jayapura- Chairman of the Indonesian Red and White Front for Jayapura City, Niko Mauri, issued an appeal to all Papuan people, especially in Jayapura City, to maintain unity and not be provoked by issues that could divide the nation.
In his statement, Niko Mauri emphasized the importance of community involvement in maintaining security, especially when entering the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) period which will soon take place.
“We urge people in Papua, especially in Jayapura, not to be influenced by issues spread by certain irresponsible groups. We are facing a big agenda, namely the Regional Election. “Let’s work together to maintain calm so that this process can run according to the rules and without interference,” stressed Niko Mauri.
He also reminded that the active role of the community is very important in supporting the security forces, both the Police and the TNI, to maintain security and peace in the Papua region.
According to him, the presence of security forces has provided a great sense of security in the community, and it is important for the community to remain strong in maintaining a conducive situation.
“We must ensure that there are no groups that deliberately provoke or pit people against each other. The presence of the TNI and Polri has provided a sense of security in Papua. “Therefore, we hope that the community remains solid in maintaining the situation so that the regional elections run peacefully,” he added.
Niko Mauri closed by reminding that Papua is a land of peace, and all elements of society need to join hands to create a safe and cool atmosphere during the Pilkada.
“Papua is a land of peace. We must join hands, maintain the situation, and ensure that the regional elections run smoothly. “Let’s elect leaders who are highly dedicated to developing the Land of Papua,” he concluded.
It is hoped that this appeal can strengthen the solidarity of the Papuan people, thwart important political agendas, and prevent incitement that could damage unity in the region.
