Jayapura- The Papua Province Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB) on Tuesday (13/08/2024) officially declared its commitment to hold the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada in 2024 which will be peaceful and democratic.
This declaration was delivered at an event which took place in the courtyard of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion, Papua Province.
In its declaration, FKUB invited all components of Papuan society, from political parties, regional heads, election organizers, to the general public, to work together with candidates to maintain harmony and tolerance.
Several important points in the declaration read by Pastor MPA Maury include:
- The importance of public participation: All citizens who have the right to vote are encouraged to exercise their voting rights.
- Strengthening shared values: The community is invited to continue to maintain the values ​​of togetherness and tolerance between religious communities.
- Organizing clean and fair elections: All parties involved in the election process are asked to uphold democratic principles.
- Respect for places of worship: Places of worship are emphasized as sacred areas whose neutrality must be maintained.
- Acceptance of regional election results: All parties are expected to receive the election results with a chest field.
With this declaration, it is hoped that the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections in Papua can run smoothly, safely and peacefully, and that leaders will produce trustworthy results and can bring positive change to the Papuan people.
