Cartenz Peace Task Force Claims Alama District in Kab. Mimika Returns Conducive

Jayapura- The Cartenz Peace Task Force claims that Alama District, Mimika Regency, Central Papua is in normal condition following the murder of the helicopter pilot belonging to PT Intan Angkasa Air Service, Glen Malcolm Conning (50) last Monday, (05/08/2024).

“It’s fine. This means that the situation is running normally there, people are carrying out activities,” said Head of Cartenz 2024 Peace Operations, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani when contacted by media crew.

He said the number of people in the Alama District was around 35 families (KK) and the people were living normal lives, as they could before the shooting incident of the pilot from New Zealand.

However, there are currently no flights to or from the Alama District. Since the incident, yes (no helicopter flights). “So, Alama can only be reached by helicopter because regular flights no longer exist,” he said.

According to him, there have been no regular flights for almost two years and since the murder of pilot Glen Malcolm some time ago, there have been no helicopters and no airlines even want to fly helicopters to Alama. “Until now, there hasn’t been any,” he said.
