Jayapura – Deputy Regional Police Chief, Brigadier General Pol Petrus Patrige Rudolf Renwarin, S.H., M.Si attended the Gakkumdu Center’s technical working meeting (Rakernis) and handling of 2024 Election Crimes which was coordinated by Plh. Head of Violation Handling and Dispute Resolution Section, Gianto, Wednesday (07/08/2024).
The activity, which was carried out in the ballroom on the second floor of the Suni Hotel & Convention Abepura, was also attended by the Director of Criminal Investigation of the Papua Police, Police Commissioner Achmad Fauzi Dalimunthe, S.I.K, Chair of the Papua Province Bawaslu, Hardin Halidin, S.H, Papua Province Bawaslu Commissioner, Violation Handling Division, Amandus Situmorang, SH., M.H, Assistant for General Crimes at the Papua High Prosecutor’s Office, Riyadi, SH., MH, Heads of Police/ta and Bawaslu staff in 9 districts/cities.
In various matters, the Deputy Chief of Papua Regional Police said that the Gakumdu Center is at the forefront of law enforcement regarding the implementation of the upcoming regional elections, and everyone’s contribution is very important in maintaining the integrity and honesty of the democratic process, especially in Papua.
“As we know, 2024 will be a year full of challenges with regional elections held simultaneously in all regencies/cities in Papua, for this reason it is important for us to understand the latest legal basis regarding Gakumdu Centers which have been adapted to face the dynamics and complexity of the existing legal basis. “This includes several laws and regulations,” said the Deputy Chief of Regional Police.
The Deputy Chief of Regional Police said that this Rakernis was the right moment to increase cooperation between all parties involved in the Gakumdu Center. Good cooperation and coordination between Bawaslu, Polri and the Prosecutor’s Office is very necessary so that they can carry out their duties more effectively and efficiently.
“Through this forum, we can share experiences, find solutions to various obstacles, and develop strategic steps to face existing challenges,” he said.
