Jayapura – Jayapura Police Chief, AKBP Umar Nasatekay, S.IK invites Jayapura Regency residents to work together to maintain security and transactions ahead of the 79th anniversary of Indonesian Independence, August 17 2024.
For the action scheduled to be held on August 15 2024, on the anniversary of the 1962 New York Agreement, residents were encouraged not to take part, Thursday (8/8/2024).
“There have been appeals issued by several churches and a number of community leaders not to take part or not be involved in this action,” said the Police Chief.
Regarding this, the Police Chief revealed that the Police had taken a number of anticipatory steps, such as daily patrols carried out by the operational team, and there were plans to hold a meeting in Komba.
“Maintaining security certainly has an impact on creating a safe and smooth regional election in Papua, especially in Jayapura Regency next October,” he said.
