Jayapura – Papua Police Mobile Brigade Unit Commander, Police Commissioner. John H. S Sitanggang, S.I.K., M.Han carried out investigative activities in Puncak Jaya Regency following the riots that occurred in Puncak Jaya Regency several days ago, Saturday (27/07/2024).
It was previously known that on Tuesday (16/07) three civilians were shot, and in the aftermath of the shooting the families did not accept it and carried out destruction and arson.
Based on this incident, the Papua Police Brimob Dansat and a team consisting of Kaops Damai Cartenz and the Papua Police Dirreskrimum were appointed by the Papua Police Chief to carry out an investigation into the incident.
Dansat Brimob said that he and his team would go to Puncak Jaya to carry out an investigation.
“Today I and a team consisting of Mr Dirkrimum and Kaops Damai Cartenz were ordered by the Papua Police Chief to carry out investigative activities in Puncak Jaya after the riots occurred on July 16 2024,” said Dansat Brimob.
He continued to say that this investigation was carried out to check directly at the crime scene the cause of the problem that occurred on July 16 2024 and the results would be reported to the Regional Police Chief.
