TIMIKA – The Chairperson of the Family Welfare and Empowerment Team (TP PKK), Tri Tito Karnavian, urged for the avoidance of conflict in Papua. This appeal was made during her visit to the Kwamki Narama District, Mimika Regency, Central Papua, on Friday, July 26, 2024.
Tri emphasized that conflicts are not only occurring in Papua but also in various regions around the world. In many of these conflicts, the primary victims are the elderly, women, and children.
She expressed her hope that all parties can maintain a peaceful situation and prevent further conflicts from arising.
“The issue of conflict is not limited to Papua; it is happening worldwide. The main victims are the elderly, women, and children,” Tri stated.
“We must work together to ensure there are no conflicts that increase the number of victims, especially among the elderly, women, and children, as they are the cornerstone of Indonesia’s future,” she added.
Tri also mentioned that PKK activities are aimed at directly engaging with communities in all regions, including conflict areas. However, safety remains the top priority.
“PKK activities are present everywhere, but in conflict areas, we must consider the situation and ensure the safety of our cadres,” she concluded.
