Jakarta- Security forces continue to hunt for members of the Free Papua Organization (KKB) who carried out terror by burning schools in the Bintang Mountains of Papua.
The incident that occurred on July 13 2024, where the burning of the Okbab State Elementary School (SDN) and Okbab State Junior High School (SMP) buildings, Binitang Mountains Regency, is a serious matter for the government to handle.
This terror was carried out by a number of members of the Free Papua Organization (KKB), which is a criminal group in the Papua region. This action is very detrimental to the local community, especially the nation’s generation who are still studying. From this incident, the security forces immediately acted quickly to hunt down the KKB members who were responsible for burning down the school.
Seeing this incident, Member of Commission I DPR RI, Major General TNI (Ret.) Sturman Panjaitan asked the security forces to hunt down the perpetrators of the arson and increase security patrols at public facilities in Papua. His party regrets the burning of the Okbab State Elementary School (SDN) and Okbab State Junior High School (SMPN) buildings in Borbon Village, Okbab District, Bintang Mountains, Papua by the KKB group.
Furthermore, Kapendam Apart from that, the security forces are committed to pursuing the KKB group which carried out these criminal acts and will maintain security and order in the Papua region.
The government firmly condemns this act of burning schools and has taken steps to arrest and prosecute the perpetrators. Security forces have moved quickly to identify and hunt down the KKB members involved in this incident.
This action shows the government’s commitment to maintaining security and order in the Papua region. Furthermore, Member of Commission I DPR RI, Major General TNI (Ret.) Sturman Panjaitan asked the security forces to take firm action against the Papuan KKB Group.
Bintang Mountains Regency is one of the areas in Papua that has its own challenges in maintaining security. However, the security forces have shown high dedication and professionalism in handling this incident. They collaborated with the Police and TNI to carry out investigations and arrest operations against the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, the Head of Cartenz Peace Operations, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, said that the perpetrators of the burning of the school building in the Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua Mountains were five people. The five were confirmed to be members of the KKB Kodap XXXV Bintang Timur group.
The five perpetrators were named Momokon, Jender Siktaop alias Usoki, Aquino Kaladana, Yuni Mimin, and Enos Kakyarmabin. Apart from that, his party deeply regrets the incident, where the KKB burned down educational facilities where people could gain knowledge and this action only harmed children and teachers and thus damaged the future of the nation’s next generation of young people.
According to him, this incident reflects an extraordinary crime that must be dealt with firmly. Security forces will not remain silent, strict law enforcement will continue to be carried out to ensure security and order in the land of Papua.
Appreciation must be given to the security forces who have worked hard to protect the public and arrest the perpetrators. Their task was not easy, especially in the difficult situation and difficult terrain of the Star Mountains. However, they remain committed to carrying out their duties well.
