Kamoro Youth Leaders invite residents to respect each other’s differences without interference

Timika – Young Kamoro figure Rafael Toarekeyau invited all parties to respect each other’s differences, especially in determining who the leadership candidate will be in the 2024 regional elections which will be held next October.

“Every citizen has the right to make their choice, and we as citizens must respect that, without interference and so on,” said Rafael.

He also invited the public to make the regional elections a success by maintaining security and order in order to create peaceful regional elections.

“Peace is not only the task of the security forces, but security is the responsibility of all of us as citizens,” he stressed.

In the midst of many issues being spread by irresponsible individuals on social media, Rafael hopes that the public will be wiser in responding to these issues.

“Keep young people from being provoked, be wise in responding to issues circulating on social media,” he explained.

Rafael asked the security forces to act firmly against certain individuals or groups who wanted to thwart the regional elections.

“We hope that the elements who want to thwart the regional elections will be given deterrence, because what is often said in the name of the Papuan people is not true. “Papuan people want change,” he stressed.
