Jayapura- The Cartenz-2024 Peace Operations Task Force, succeeded in arresting one KKB in the name of Basoka Lawiya, who is the KKB Kodap VIII Intan Jaya, led by Undius Kogoya, in Topo Village, Uwapa District, Nabire Regency, Central Papua on Sunday 7 July 2024, at 17:55: Wit.
Head of Cartenz 2024 Peace Operations, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., when confirmed, said that KKB Basoka Lawiya was arrested in Topo Village, Uwapa District, Nabire Regency, Central Papua when joint officers from the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force and Nabire Police and Topo Police conducted a raid.
“We carried out a raid and secured a KKB in the name of Basoka Lawiya. He is a member of the KKB Kodap VIII Intan Jaya led by Undius Kogoya and was directly involved in a number of criminal acts that occurred in Intan Jaya Regency and also in Paniai Regency,” said Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H.
Meanwhile, Head of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Public Relations Task Force, Kombespol. Dr. Bayu Suseno,. S.H., S.I.K., M.M., M.H., when confirmed, said that the Basoka Lawiya KKB was monitored by the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force passing around Topo Village, Uwapa District, Kab. Nabire, Central Papua on Sunday 7 July 2024, 17:55: WIT and at that time security forces were carrying out a raid in front of the Topo Police.
“Yes, that’s right, KKB Basoka Lawiya was observed passing by while we were carrying out a raid. So we immediately chased him down and arrested him. However, he put up resistance so we were forced to take firm, measured action,” explained Bayu.
“It should be noted that KKB Basoka Lawiya is a member of KKB Kodap VIII Intan Jaya led by Undius Kogoya and the person concerned has his address in Soanggama village, Hitadipa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua,” explained Bayu
Police Commissioner continued. Dr. Bayu Suseno, KKB Basoka Lawiya Active in sharing criminal acts that occurred in Intan Jaya Regency and Paniai Regency, including;
- Directly involved in the burning of the house of the Intan Jaya Regency ASN Service on January 20 2024 in Mamba Village, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency.
- Directly involved in the arrest and search carried out by the Intan Jaya KKB group against the Head of Odiyai Village, East Paniai District on behalf of Brother Efraim Gobai on May 6 2024.
- KKB Basoka Lawiya was also involved in the shooting and arson that occurred on Madi Highway, Uwibutu Village, East Paniai District, Paniai Regency on May 22 2024.
- Then on June 11 2024, he was also involved in the murder of civilians in the name of Rusli which occurred in Kopo Village, East Paniai District, Paniai Regency.
Police Commissioner. Dr. Bayu Suseno added that KKB Basoka Lawiya was paralyzed by the authorities because when he was arrested the person concerned resisted the officers.
“Currently, KKB Basoka Lawiya’s body is still at Nabire Regional Hospital. When the identification process is complete, the family in Nabire can take his body to Nabire Regional Hospital,” said Bayu Suseno.
Police Commissioner. Dr. Bayu Suseno reiterated that the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force will continue to take action against the KKB Group which is disrupting security stability in Papua and protect the community from threats and disturbances posed by this KKB group.
