Ahead of Regional Elections, Dogiyai Police Establish Communication with the Community

Dogiyai – As the simultaneous regional elections approach in Dogiyai Regency, the Dogiyai Police held a meeting with several community leaders in the Intelligence Unit room of the Dogiyai Police headquarters on Friday (7/5/2024).

The meeting was attended by Deputy Police Chief of Dogiyai, AKP Muh. Tahir, representing Police Chief Kompol Sarraju, SH. He was accompanied by the Operations Head AKP Manaf Anggiluli, the Head of Internal Affairs Ipda Agustinus Rirey, and Intelligence Unit Officer Aiptu Soni Dison Ramba.

The meeting involved four village heads: Ambrosius Tigi of Kimipugi Village, Ipo Gane of Ekimanida Village, Frans Yobee of Idakotu Village, and Marten Tebai of Dikiyoa Village.

AKP Muh. Tahir expressed his gratitude to the village heads for attending the meeting upon the Dogiyai Police’s invitation.

“In the near future, we will hold simultaneous regional elections in Dogiyai Regency, including the election of the Governor and Deputy Governor, as well as the Regent and Deputy Regent,” he said.

He noted that despite Dogiyai being considered a vulnerable area during the recent Presidential, Vice-Presidential, and Legislative Elections, it proved to be one of the safest and was the first to complete the regency-level plenary session.

Reflecting on this experience, he emphasized the importance of maintaining this peaceful situation. “We, the security forces, cannot do much without your support. Please advise the youth in your villages not to consume alcohol, as it can lead to actions that disturb public order,” he stated.

“We all hope that these upcoming regional elections will proceed as smoothly as the previous elections.”

The Dogiyai Police hope that such meetings will continue and be enhanced in the future.

“We hope to hold these kinds of meetings frequently to share information and receive feedback from you all. We highly encourage cooperation to maintain security and comfort in Dogiyai so that the government can function normally,” said the Deputy Police Chief.

Ambrosius Tigi, the head of Kimipugi Village, responded, “What the Deputy Police Chief said is very true. Young people nowadays are difficult to educate, but we will continue to try to guide them.”

During the meeting, AKP Muh. Tahir handed over three pigs as a gesture of goodwill and communication.

“The logistics will be coordinated with the Operations Head, AKP Manaf Anggiluli,” he added.
