Timika – Two people were reported to have died as a result of riots in Kenyam District, Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains, Tuesday (2/7/2024).
Nduga Police Chief, AKBP VJ Parapaga, when confirmed, said that currently the security forces together with the government are trying to control the situation so that it returns to a conducive state.
“Until now, the Acting Regent, Dandim and Police Chief are still controlling the situation. It’s true that we found a victim who was dead. “There were two deaths, one person was injured,” said the Police Chief.
He said the three victims are currently in health facilities. It is planned to evacuate to Mimika Regency by plane.
“Hopefully tomorrow. “We are trying to get the plane to come and take him down (to Timika) and then to his hometown in East Nusa Tenggara,” said the Police Chief.
