Papua – Attacks and intimidation carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua have had a major impact on the local economy.
The traders in the market, the majority of whom are native Papuans, also felt the negative impact of a series of terror acts carried out by the KKB.
As recently, KKB was known to have set fire to a building that functioned as a logistics warehouse at Tapulinik Airport. This building has been used to store Social Assistance items for the Sinak community, as well as for communities in the surrounding area.
“It is very regrettable that the Armed Criminal Group set fire to this place. “In fact, this logistics building is really needed by the Puncak community and its surroundings, because it is very useful for storing agricultural products and basic necessities for the community’s daily needs,” said Ws. Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih Lt. Col. Inf. Candra Kurniawan, S.E., M.M confirmed this arson incident.
The instability caused by the KKB not only frightens citizens, but also makes Papua’s economy slump, and efforts to improve people’s welfare are hampered.
All elements of society are urging the government and security forces to immediately take firm action against this group so that economic stability in the Papua region can be maintained.
