Paniai – Kugapa residents who were protecting themselves from the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) asked the TNI-Polri officers to provide security when they returned to their hometown.
During a dialogue with the Acting Governor of Central Papua, Ribka Haluk, the Head of Kugapa Village said that the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) group came to his village in early June.
They often confiscate food, money, livestock, and destroy a number of residents’ houses. Not only that, their daughter was also taken and abused by the KKB.
The head of Kugapa Village, Mr. Daminus Songgonau, asked the TNI-Polri officers to comb their village again until it was clean of armed groups.
“So on this occasion we ask the TNI-Polri gentlemen to please check inside, everything is empty before we return to the village,” said Daminus.
They admitted that they could not fight back because they were threatened with firearms. As a result of the terror carried out by the KKB, the residents who were protecting themselves admitted that they were traumatized and had to return to their villages.
