Law enforcement operations carried out by the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force and joint TNI-Polri troops against the KKB headquarters in Bibida District, Paniai Regency resulted in the death of one KKB person. Meanwhile, when the troops were chasing and searching Udigimi, another body was found. So the total number of bodies evacuated was 2 bodies.
Head of Peace Ops Cartenz 2024 Police Commissioner. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, when asked for information, said that from the results of the identification carried out on the body, it was obtained that one of the KKB who died was named Danis Murib alias Baganiok Murib.
“Yes, that’s right, we have succeeded in paralyzing 1 KKB of the Undius Kogoya group. It is suspected that his identity is Danis Murib alias Baganiok Murib,” explained Faizal
Meanwhile, Head of the Public Relations Task Force for OPS Damai Cartenz-2024, AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno, in his statement, said that Danis Murib alias Baganiok Murib, is an active member of the KKB Tenius Waker and Undius Kogoya who for the last 3 months has been active in disrupting public security and order in Paniai Regency, Central Papua.
“Yes, that’s right, currently the two bodies are at the Paniai District Hospital. This afternoon we have successfully identified one KKB body, allegedly named Danis Murib alias Baganiok Murib (DM) alias (BM). DM alias BM is an active member of Tenius Waker and Undius Kogoya “The body of DM alias BM was found wearing a black T-shirt with KKB attributes. DM alias BM had a gunshot wound to the chest. DM alias BM was a KKB from Intan Jaya who for the last 3 months had been active in disturbing social security in Paniai.” explained Bayu
Bayu further explained that the post-mortem process for the second body was still being carried out by doctors at Paniai Regional Hospital.
“Yes, that’s right, at this time we still haven’t been able to identify 1 body. When the body was found, the body was wearing a blue t-shirt and green trousers with bruises on several parts of the body and open wounds on the back and right armpit. Possibly caused by a sharp object stabbing.” explained Bayu
AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno explained that the KKB led by Undius Kogoya was known as one of the groups that often carried out acts of violence against civilians in Papua, especially in Intan Jaya Regency and Paniai Regency. This group often carries out attacks on civilians and security forces, including burning public facilities, causing harm to the local community.
“It is possible that the second body was a civilian who met KKB Undius Kogoya around Udigimi and Bibida when they were fleeing from pursuing TNI and Polri troops. So they were killed so as not to give us information. However, we will continue to investigate this matter further.” said Bayu
Bayu further explained about the Criminal Records of KKB Undius Kogoya, namely:
- On August 8 2020, a series of shots were fired in the Oesiga Village area, Intan Jaya Regency, in the incident there were no casualties.
- On August 15 2020, he shot a motorbike taxi driver in Intan Jaya, in which case the motorbike taxi driver named Laode Janudin died at the scene.
- On August 18 2020, he set fire to heavy equipment (excavators) in Intan Jaya again, causing it to burn down.
- On September 14 2020, he shot two motorcycle taxi drivers, namely Laode and Fatur, in Sugapa Intan Jaya District, as a result, both victims were injured.
- On September 17 2020, they again carried out persecution against civilians in Bilogai Village, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya, resulting in the death of a resident named Badawi.
- On September 17 2020, he was involved in a firefight with personnel from the Hitadipa Apter Task Force in Sugapa Lama Village, resulting in Serka Sahlan’s death.
- On September 18 2020, shot down a plane that was going to evacuate Serka Sahlan in Intan Jaya.
- On September 19 2020, gunfire occurred with personnel from the Hitadipa Apter Task Force in Hitadipa Village, Intan Jaya, causing Pratu Dwi Akbar to die. Then there was another firefight with Koramil personnel preparing for Hitadipa, as a result, Pastor Yeremias Y was shot dead.
- On September 23 2020, another shooting occurred at security forces in front of the Intan Jaya Regent’s office.
- On September 25 2020, there was gunfire with TNI officers at Sugapa Airport.
- On September 30 2020, carried out a shooting at the Sugapa Police Headquarters.
- On September 30 2020, carried out a shooting at the Sugapa Police Headquarters.
- On October 4 2020, he shot a group of the Director of Criminal Investigation and Dasat Brimob in Sugapa District.
- On October 5 2020, there was another firefight with TNI/Polri personnel at the Apter Kodim, Sugapa District.
- On October 7 2020, journalist Agustinus Duwitau was shot in Damogoa, causing him to be injured.
- On October 8 2020, he shot down a plane at Bilogai Intan Jaya Airport.
- On October 9 2020, they shot a group of the Kemenkopolhukam Fact Finding Team in Sugapa District. Due to this incident, TPF member Bambang was injured and Sertu Faisal and Pratu Ginanjar were injured.
- On March 30 2022, Undius Kogoya and Aibon Kogoya again set fire to a school building and tortured two civilians in Hitadipa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua.
- On July 18 2023, the Smart Aviation plane piloted by Captain M Farhan and Wahyu as copilot was shot down and carrying seven Brimob members from Moses Kilangin Airport in Mimika Regency to Homeyo District.
- On April 30 2024, there was another attack on the Homeyo Police Headquarters and the burning of the SDN Inpres Pogapa building. As a result, 1 Toraja civilian became a victim, named Aleksander Parapak (20), a man, who died.
- On May 21 2024, burned kiosks and shot at stalls and burned down schools in East Paniai District.
- On June 11 2024, shot and burned the car and victim’s body in the name of Rusli in Timida Village, East Paniai District, Paniai Regency, Central Papua.
AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno emphasized that the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force will continue to take action and enforce the law against the KKB in Papua which continues to carry out criminal acts against civil society.
“We are consistent in enforcing the law against KKB who are actively disrupting social security and order in Papua,” concluded Bayu
