Jayapura- Papua is an inseparable part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). The existence of Papua within the framework of the Republic of Indonesia has been confirmed through various international decisions, including the United Nations (UN) decision which states that Papua’s status as part of Indonesia is final.
Over the last few years, development in Papua has shown significant progress. Various infrastructure projects have been implemented, including the construction of roads, bridges, health and education facilities. This change is very visible when compared to previous years, showing an increase in the quality of life and accessibility for the Papuan people.
This success shows the government’s seriousness in making Papua a priority and main province. Some concrete steps taken by the government include:
Infrastructure programs such as the construction of the Trans Papua road which connects various cities and villages in Papua, facilitate mobility and economic access.
Human Resource Development includes, among other things, scholarship programs and improving the quality of education which aims to create competent human resources in Papua.
Health Services also include improving and building more adequate health facilities to ensure access to health services for the Papuan people.
All of these efforts have had a positive impact on the Papuan people, confirming that Papua is an integral part of Indonesia. With equitable development and special attention from the government, it is hoped that the Papuan people will feel real benefits from their status as part of the Republic of Indonesia.
The development that has been and is currently underway in Papua shows the government’s commitment to strengthening Papua as an integral part of the Republic of Indonesia.
