Jayapura- After the entire investigation process is declared complete, the two perpetrators of the miners’ marriage case in Yahukimo on October 16 2023 will soon enter the peace process. This was after the entire investigation process was completed and on Monday (27/5) the files and suspects in the case were handed over to the Jayawijaya District Prosecutor’s Office.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for the Yahukimo Police, Inspector Dr Tantu Usam, said that the two suspects named were YH and AP. Both of them are leaders of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).
However, even though they both have KKB status, they both have different leadership. AP is a KKB member from the Kopi Tua Heluka leadership group, while YH is a member of the Yotam Bugiangge group.
However, both of them are known to be sadistic and do not hesitate to commit murder. Here, based on their actions, investigators charged the perpetrator with the same sentence, AP and YH were charged under Article 340 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 20 year.
Meanwhile, another statement was provided that AP and YH were arrested on April 11 2024 when they were both in the Kali Wo area, Dekai District, Yahukimo.
“AP and YH were arrested while two other colleagues were killed after being involved in gunfire,” explained the chief of staff.
Tantu said that in the case of the miners remaining, they were still warming up to other perpetrators. There are 13 perpetrators who have been published on the Wanted List. “The 13 perpetrators who have been issued DPOs are LK, YM, SM, AG, YG, PN, TK, YN, PM, LN, T, W and WG,” explained Kasat.
As in previous reports, it was reported that 13 gold panners in Yahukimo died horribly after being massacred by KKB. Luckily in this case there were a number of other victims who managed to escape and save themselves, although they were found several days later.
