Wamena – Cartenz-2024 Gakkum Ops Peace Task Force personnel accompanied by the Investigation team of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Nduga Police, Papua Province Mountains handed over the suspect EN alias Epson Nirigi to the District Attorney (Kejari) Wamena Jayawijaya Regency, Tuesday (7/5/2024).
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Nduga Police, IPTU Jaya Bida Kedeng in his statement explained, the delegation of the suspect was carried out after the investigation file was declared P21 or complete by the Prosecutor.
“We have gone through stage two. Before handing over to the prosecutor, we checked the suspect first in terms of health,” said Head of Nduga Criminal Investigation Unit, IPTU Jaya Bida Kedeng.
Meanwhile, Head of Operation Peace Cartenz, Kombes Pol Faizal Ramadhani S.Sos S.IK MH said, Epson Nirigi is an active member of the KKB from Kodap III Ndugama and is a subordinate of Egianus Kogoya who was involved in a number of criminal acts until the issuance of a Police Report and DPO from Nduga Police.
“The arrest was made at Lavela In Hotel, Kalimutu Street, Mimika City, when he was attending the vote recapitulation meeting of Jita District, Mimika Regency, Central Papua,” said Kaops.
In the same place, Head of Public Relations Task Force of Ops Peace Cartenz-2024, AKBP. Dr. Bayu Suseno, explained that Epson Nirigi’s role in the KKB was as a supplier of ammunition and weapons.
“During the arrest, the Task Force managed to confiscate a number of evidence, including 1 waist bag, 116 thousand in cash, 1 oppo charger, 1 lighter, 2 notebooks, 1 flash drive, 1 BRI bank ATM card, 1 KTP, 1 BPJS card, 1 Kuala Papua Indonesia Foundation visitor card, 1 SIM C, photo pass, 1 motorcycle STNK, 1 wallet, and 1 postcard,” said Bayu.
Currently the suspect is being held by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) at class II B Wamena Correctional Facility, Jayawijaya Regency while awaiting the implementation of the trial mechanism by the prosecutor.
