Jayapura- In the aftermath of the attack by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) at Homeyo Police, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Police Chief, Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri, has announced the deployment of a joint team to Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua.
This team consists of the Cartenz Peace Task Force and Kogabwilhan III, which aims to secure the area from disturbances carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).
The Regional Police Chief confirmed that the deployment of a joint TNI-Polri team had been prepared to strengthen security in Intan Jaya Regency from attacks by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB). The Papua Regional Police will also send Brimob members to help restore security in the area.
Apart from that, the Papua Police Chief also noted that on Tuesday (30/4/2024), the OPM armed group attacked the Homeyo Police Station by shooting, which caused the death of a civilian, and on Wednesday (1/5/2024), they burned down the Pogapa Inpres Elementary School. . Because SDN Inpres Pogapa is located around the Homeyo Police Station, the Regional Police Chief ordered members to be alert and not be provoked by this action.
The Regional Police Chief reminded us not to be easily provoked, because that is what armed groups want. He also emphasized the need for additional TNI-Polri personnel to prevent disturbances from armed groups from spreading to other areas in Intan Jaya Regency.
