The Cartenz-2024 Peace Operations Task Force for the Yahukimo Region succeeded in paralyzing 2 active KKB members from the Kopi Tua Heluka group and the Yotam Bugiangge group on Thursday, April 11 2024 in Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains.

Meanwhile, Head of the Cartenz 2024 Peace Operation Public Relations Task Force AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno, when asked for information, explained that the second active KKB who was successfully paralyzed was Toni Wetapo alias Toni Giban, an active KKB member of the Yahukimo group led by Yotam Bugiangge.
“Meanwhile, the second active KKB is named Toni Wetapo alias Toni Giban who is part of Yotam Gwijangge’s KKB group. The person concerned is suspected of being involved in the massacre of gold panners in Kali I on October 16 2023 with 13 civilian victims dead, 1 person injured and 2 others not found and most recently involved in the shooting of the Wings Air plane at Nop Goliat Dekai airport , Yahukimo on February 17 2024,” explained Bayu.
AKBP Bayu further confirmed that there had been action against 2 active KKB members in Yahukimo district, namely KKB Afrika Heluka and Toni Wetapo alias Toni Giban and that his party had succeeded in securing 6 other people from the crime scene of the action who were suspected of being active KKB members. Currently, the six people have been detained at the Cartenz Peace Operations Command post in the Yahukimo area for further examination.
