After the attack on the Bank Papua security post in Intan Jaya by a group suspected of being the KKB in the Intan Jaya area led by Undius Kogoya, 2 people became victims.
Head of the Cartenz 2024 Peace Operation Public Relations Task Force AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno, S.H., S.I.K, M.M., M.H. explained that the incident started with the KKB’s efforts to free Bui Wonda alias Bossman Wenda who had previously been arrested by the Cartenz Peace Operations Gakkum Task Force regarding weapons and ammunition.
“As a result of the attack carried out by the KKB, two residents were reported to have been shot and have been evacuated to the Bilogai Community Health Center to receive medical assistance,” said Bayu.
Bayu then stated the identities of the victims, namely Nando Duwitau, 12 years old, who was declared dead, and Nopina Duwitau, 6 years old, who suffered a gunshot wound to the left hand.
“The victim Nando Duwitau has been taken by his family to the Agape Church in Wandoga Village to be buried, while the victim Nopina Duwitau is still at the Community Health Center to receive further medical treatment,” explained the Head of the Public Relations Task Force.
Kaops Peace Cartenz 2024 Police Commissioner. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H. adding that KKB atrocities were not only carried out against security forces but also against civil society.
“It should be noted that within the last week there has been a stabbing carried out by the KKB Group Elkius Kobak and Yotam Bugiangge who were in Yahukimo and resulted in the deaths of two civilians,” explained Faizal.
The Head of the Public Relations Task Force further explained that the first incident was on April 30 with the victim, Jhonsep Salempang, male, 23 years old, working as a gallon water delivery driver around the Nop Goliat Dekai Airport Complex. Meanwhile, in the second incident, the victim was Yosep Pulung, male, 55 years old, working as an ASN Inspectorate for Yahukimo Regency in front of Dekai State Elementary School, Yahukimo.
Concluding his statement, the Head of the Public Relations Task Force expressed his deep condolences for the deaths of people who were victims of KKB atrocities.
“We are also concerned about the loss of life among civilians as a result of the indiscriminate KKB attacks. We will continue to provide support for the victims by immediately carrying out intensive investigations so that this case is quickly revealed clearly,” concluded Bayu
