Chairman of Commission I DPR Meutya Hafid opens his voice regarding the hostage case of Susi Air pilot Capt. Philips Martenz which has been running for more than a year.
He admitted that he had received information from the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Hadi Tjahjanto that currently communication was continuing between the government and the hostages and their families.
“Hopefully there will be a bright spot. The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs said that there had been communication with the hostages, and the hostages with their families. “Hopefully we can save it peacefully,” he said.
Furthermore, Meutya admitted that the government had not set a time target for the rescue efforts. Remember, this step cannot be predicted.
Even so, he said that of course the government’s process in rescuing hostages was not trivial. As for the DPR, Meutya said that she would definitely monitor the government to try to free the hostages.
“If it’s a target, don’t be targeted. As a former person who was once held hostage, actually, there is no need to discuss this much first, because the process is full of caution, and forgiveness does not involve talking. “God willing, there will still be bright spots,” concluded Meutya.
