
Jayapura – The body of Posthumous Brigadier Sandi Defrit Sayuri, a victim who was shot dead by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Baya Biru District, Paniai, Papua, Wednesday (20/03/2024) was flown to Jayapura today.
This explanation was conveyed by Nabire Police Chief AKBP Wahyudi S. Bintoro, SH., S.I.K., M. Si after leading the ceremony to release Sandi’s body.
“Today Sandi’s body was released and departed for the funeral home in Bucen II, South Jayapura District, Jayapura City,” said Nabire Police Chief.
The body release ceremony was held at the Nabire Police Headquarters, Saturday (23/03/2024).
“The body’s departure process used the Smart Avision PK – SNP aircraft from Nabire to Jayapura,” said the Police Chief.
Separately, the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Commissioner Pol. Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, S.H., S.I.K., M.Kom., said that on Saturday (23/03) at around 09.25 WIT the body and the group from Nabire arrived at Sentani Airport, Jayapura Regency.
“The body of Posthumous Brigadier Sandi Defrit Sayuri was taken to the funeral home in the Bucend II Complex area to be buried,” he said.
“The burial plan for the deceased will be held on Sunday (24/03/2024), at the Waena Heroes’ Cemetery (TMP), Heram District, Jayapura City,” he added.
Apart from that, the Head of Public Relations expressed his deep condolences for the loss of one of the nation’s best sons in carrying out his duties.
“We feel a great loss due to the death of our brother, Brigadier Posthumous Sandi Defrit Sayuri. “Hopefully the families left behind will be given fortitude,” concluded Commissioner Benny.
