Jayapura- The Head of the Papua Regional Police, Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri, has ordered the main acting Papuan Police, namely the Papua Regional Police Direskrimum, and 1 Timika Mobile Brigade Platoon to be deployed to Baya Biru District, Paniai Regency, Central Papua, to carry out law enforcement against Criminal Groups Armed (KKB) who carried out an attack on two Paniai Police personnel and a resident which resulted in the victim’s death.
Inspector General Fakhiri confirmed that his party had succeeded in evacuating three shooting victims from Paniai to Nabire Regency. This brutal action resulted in the deaths of three people, namely two members of the Paniai Police, Bribda Sandi Defrit Sayuri and Bribda Arnaldobert Yawan, as well as a resident named Dani.
“To immediately prepare measurable, precise and firm law enforcement steps in the affected areas, because this has happened repeatedly after before the election there were also incidents, and yesterday our members and civil society could have died, today we are gradually sending reinforcements to take law enforcement steps,” said the Papua Police Chief.
He said the shooting of two police officers and residents was carried out by the KKB led by Aibon Kogoya.
“Arnaldobert Yawan’s body will be buried at Taman Bahagia Nabire, while Sandi Defrit Sayuri’s body will be buried at Taman Bahagia Jayapura,” he said.
