Jayapura – The bodies of Bripda Arnaldobert Yawan and Bripda Sandi Defrit Sayuri who were shot dead by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Baya Biru District, Paniai, Papua, were today evacuated to Timika Regency.
This was stated by the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Pol. Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, S.H., S.I.K., M.Kom., when met in his office, Thursday (21/03/2024).
“It is true that this morning the bodies of the two police victims of the KKB shooting will be evacuated to Mimika Regency using TNI and Polri helicopters,” said the Head of Public Relations.
Apart from that, the Head of Public Relations revealed that after the shooting on Wednesday (20/03/2024) there was 1 (one) community victim named Dani (45) who died.
“The victim died after being hit by an arrow in the back,” said the Head of Public Relations.
Currently, said Commissioner Benny, the body is currently being buried in a resident’s house in Baya Biru District, Paniai Regency, Papua.
Previously, two members of Ndeotadi Police Post 99, Baya Biru District, Paniai Regency were attacked by an Armed Criminal Group on Wednesday (20/3/2024) morning.
The attack occurred when personnel from Police Post 99 Ndeotadi were carrying out security measures for heliped 99. As a result of the shooting, Bripda Arnaldobert Fhin Yawan and Bripda Sandi Defrit Sayuri died.
Not only did they shoot two police officers, the Armed Criminal Group also confiscated two AK-47 type firearms.
It is strongly suspected that the perpetrator of the attack on the two police officers was the KKB led by Aibon Kogoya.
