Jayapura District Government invites young Papuans to create positive content
Jayapura- The Regency Government (Pemkab) of Jayapura, Papua, invites the young generation of Papua to create positive content on social media (medsos) to support the development of the region.
Head of the Jayapura Regency Communication and Information Service (Diskominfo), Gustaf Griapon, said that with developments in technology, the community can help the regional government (Pemda) in development, one of which is by posting development successes in 139 villages and five sub-districts.
“Construction of houses and bridges that have been carried out by the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) and the village government through village funds. The community can post it on social media so that people out there know how far the development has been carried out,” he said.
Don’t do the opposite, he said, content on social media is used as an invitation to spread fake news or hoaxes, provocative information, fighting against each other, SARA, and so on.
“With the construction of 185 Tower Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) spread across 139 villages and five sub-districts, people can use the internet as a means of learning, positive information, and disseminating good information to the wider community,” he said.
He explained that in the development of digital literacy in village sector communities four basic things must be attached, including digital skills (digital skills), digital security (digital security), digital culture (digital culture), and digital ethics (digital ethics).
“When playing on social media, there are ethics that must be understood and must be followed by people in this area, especially digital communities in villages in supporting local government programs and policies,” he said.
He admitted that the current development of information technology cannot be prevented but can be directed so that understanding in a medial social society can be directed and avoid false news.
“The government has worked optimally in development in each village through OPD programs and policies using both the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) and the Special Autonomy Fund (Otsus) for community welfare, thereby helping the community by conveying success or achievements,” he said.
